The Epic of Gilgamesh
Just the sound of that title gives a sense of how Gilgamesh was. Gilgamesh wasn't just a king, but he was also described as a God. It has been told that, "Shamash , the glorious sun, endowed him with beauty, Adad, the god of the storm, endowed him with courage, the great gods made his beauty perfect, surprising all others..." The beginning of the document describes him has this perfect, powerful, and wise icon. he was able to create walls, and a temple. He seems like a man who works hard for others. He had the knowledge that no one had.
Throughout the documents from pgs. 93-95, you were able to gain a image of how he was towards his people. Myself, reading this, it kinda gives me the sense of an religious story. As if it supposed to give a morale lesson. Maybe it could of been in the past. The people believed that, "the king should be shepherd to his people". As like of a god.
We were able to know these thoughts, ideas, and experiences of these past civilizations. Almost magically. Through writing it gives it a sense of immortality. Even though people of the time die, their ideas will shared and live on forever.
